The best Ford Ranger engine for most UK buyers is the 2.0 EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel with 205PS on the current model. It produces 500Nm of torque and can tow the full 3,500kg. The 3.0 V6 is the nicest to drive, but it costs about £5,000 more before VAT and averages around 28mpg. On a used 2019–2022 Ranger, choose the 2.0 EcoBlue, which is more responsive and efficient than the older 3.2 it replaced.

Are Ford Rangers actually reliable? +
