Which Transit Custom engine is most reliable? +

The most reliable Transit Custom engine is generally considered to be the earlier 2.2 TDCi (2013–2016), which uses a timing chain. The later 2.0 EcoBlue had teething issues at launch, including noisy idler pulleys, and uses a wet timing belt that Ford now says to replace every six years or 100,000 miles. A later EcoBlue with proof of belt work is still a sound buy.
